1Last night I was doing homework in the dorm when suddenly all the lights went out. Power outage!
2The room was pitch dark — I couldn't see anything. I turned on my phone's flashlight and went to the hallway to check if it was just our room.
3The hallway was dark too; other students came out with their phones. Everyone was asking: 'What happened? When will the power come back?'
4Someone went to ask the dorm manager. She said: 'Don't worry, there's probably an electrical issue. Maintenance has been notified; it should be fixed in about an hour.'
5Everyone went back to their rooms to wait. I lit a candle and sat chatting with my roommate.
6Without phones and computers, we actually talked much more and shared many interesting stories.
7An hour later, the lights finally came back on, and everyone cheered and clapped. I felt that although the blackout was inconvenient, it made me and my roommate closer.
